OceanStor Dorado2100 G2 Disk Enclosure (2U) Hardware Description

OceanStor Dorado2100 G2 is a new-generation solid state storage system developed by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. for the enterprise-level high-performance storage markets. With its full solid state storage architecture, dual-controller redundancy, flexible networking modes, and powerful software functions, OceanStor Dorado2100 G2 provides high-reliability and superior-performance storage services to customers. The product’s flexible and scalable hardware design, industry-leading technical specifications, and virtual underlying architecture collaborate to ensure the security and continuity of various applications, including large database online transaction processing (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP), high-performance computing, digital medium, Internet commerce, and central storage.

The functions of each module in the disk enclosure are as follows:

  • Expansion moduleConnects the disk enclosure and the controller enclosure, and manages modules of the disk enclosure.
  • Power moduleProvides a load-balancing power system for the disk enclosure.
  • Fan moduleDissipates heat for the disk enclosure.
  • MidplaneFacilitates data communications between modules in the disk enclosure.
  • Disk moduleProvides storage space.

The components of a disk enclosure are as follows.

  • System Enclosure:Insert different modules in the system enclosure to achieve flexible hardware configurations. The system enclosure realizes data transfer and power connection between modules.

Figure 4 shows the appearance of the system enclosure.

Expansion module:
The expansion module provides expansion ports to connect the disk enclosure to the controller enclosure to enable the communication between them. Each expansion module provides a PRI expansion port and an EXP expansion port.
Figure 5 shows the expansion module.

Disk module:
The disk module provides space for storing data.
Figure 6 show the disk module.

Power Module:
The power module includes DC power module and AC power module. It can ensure the disk enclosure work correctly in maximum power consumption mode.
Figure 7 shows the AC power module. Figure 8 shows the DC power module.

Fan module:
The fan module dissipates heat for the disk enclosure and can ensure the disk enclosure work correctly in maximum power consumption mode. The fan module supports the hot swap function. The fan module supports sixteen grades of linear speed control, and adjusts the wind speed according to the system temperature information.
Figure 9 shows the fan module.
